Aaron + Caroline // The Westin Kuala Lumpur // Band of Brothers

In Commercial Work on January 10, 2012 by LA Imaging Cinema

“..these are God’s men, they sacrificed, suffered tortures for their fellow. Endured peacock dance, drank raw eggs and Milo, and willing to put up girly make up. These are the Band of Brothers..”

Oh how Aaron is so lucky to have them as groomsmen. Harvest Generation did a wonderful thing to nurture such quality within them. Which is why i keep coming back to Malaysia over and over again, capturing the beautiful moments in their lifetime. And hoping that one day, their traits and qualities can grow within me as well.

For now, my dear friend Aaron and Caroline, we can only present to you this film. Small film about love, perseverance, and fellowship. We hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.

Thank you.

Gema & Dhani // Salatiga // Javanese Road Trip

In Commercial Work on January 10, 2012 by LA Imaging Cinema

Most couples that we asked about their dream wedding would describe small, intimate venue, but big enough to cater close friends and relatives. Others talked about wanting a wedding faraway from big city crowds (and traffic) as possible, and dreaming of white sandy beach or breezy highland and mountains as their wedding background. This wedding had it all. The perfect wedding formula most couples could ever wish for. A heritage Javanese house with antique decor, breezy Salatiga highland weather, and the luxury of Grand Wahid Hotel as their reception venue. They flew all their guests there. Me? I prefer a road trip by bus. but this time, it was the most luxurious bus i ever ridden. Heck, It has more gadgets than La Cinema office. 12 hours ride passed by just like that thanks to comfy sofa seating.

All the right elements // ESMOD // Vintage Photo Session

In Commercial Work on November 12, 2011 by LA Imaging Cinema

aspiring young fashion designer with an appetite for an eclectic vintage style.

Here’s our photo session with Siska Kemala. We managed to put all the right elements that best describe her style. She dyed her own outfit specifically for the shot. a lovely gradient sepia tone with coffee illustration. The second shot (holding a glass) is what came out of my years old Canon 7D without any color editing at all.

I love 7D so much, its a keeper for a hybrid shooter.

Venus & William // Malaysia // SDE

In Commercial Work, life pieces on October 28, 2011 by LA Imaging Cinema Tagged: , , ,

Half an hour drive from the famous heritage city of Malacca, La Cinema was invited to shot the wedding of this gorgeous gardeners couple. Yes, they both own garden and plantation company. They even use some of their plants to decorate the wedding venue. A visit to small town like this means a different culinary journey to me. Yes, they have one of the best coffee here. and it cost 1 Ringgit a cup. i mean, c’mon! 1 RM a cup! Where else can you find a freshly ground, properly brewed coffee for 1 RM? A starbux grande cafe latte in here costs more than 12 RM and taste.. well.. starbuxy..

and then there’s the Rice Ball.. oh so good.. Dunno how to describe it. it’s THAT good.

Thank you Venus & William.

Port of Jakarta // teaser

In Commercial Work, life pieces, Prewedding Shot on July 23, 2011 by LA Imaging Cinema

what a beautiful morning to cherish. the sound of waves, breezy wind and warm morning sun. i started shooting quite early today but there seemed to be plenty of early-risers flocking Jakarta bay area. i met an elder who visit this port everyday for his morning workout routine (he was yelling at fishermen while stretching). the nice old man accompanied me shooting the whole morning. i didn’t mind at all, he got plenty of nostalgic stories to tell.

well, here’s a teaser for an upcoming wedding. made fresh today so call it an SDE.
Enjoy.

Melissa & Yano // a traditional wedding proposal

In Commercial Work on July 20, 2011 by LA Imaging Cinema

Here is an example of traditional wedding proposal in Jakarta. It’s a formal family affair involving both family members meeting and discussing the wedding details. I was contacted to document the event the conventional way, not in cinema style like i used to do. But old habits die hard, and i wanted to make a short highlight of the event. So here it is.

The wedding will be held on 11.11.11. Hot date!

Enjoy.

Inda & Aip // wedding highlight // SDE

In Commercial Work on July 5, 2011 by LA Imaging Cinema

A weekend full of emotion between the bride, groom, best friends, and beloved parents. Here, i rediscovered my love to Bandung all over again. The mist, the chill, the first ray that dawn. The city itself gave a fitting backdrop to the newlywed’s love story. It was epic.

a great honor to capture Inda & Arief on their special day. This SDE is a simple ‘thank you’ note from us @ La Cinema.

Love,
